Elva cars was founded by Frank Nichols in Rye, Sussex, England and was well known in the late 1950’s and mid 1960’s for building formula junior and sports racing cars as well as the Courier sports car. Elva was eventually purchased by Trojan / McLaren to produce the customer McLaren race cars.

The Mark 6 was designed by Keith Marsden at the end of 1961. It was available to run with Coventry Climax and Ford engines and with a Hewland gearbox. This car 60-024 was one of the last built in 1962 and delivered to the USA. After many years of SCCA racing it is restored and raced in historic racing events from the late 1980’s until the present.

Constructed 7/31/1962 and delivered new to the USA

Having raced at the Monterey Historic Races, Wine Country Classic, with HMSA, CSRG, and SOVREN with many wins. A competitive, well known car that is eligible to run in the pre-1962 sports racing class.

Condition: Beautifully turned out in white with black numbers. In the care of Vintage Racing Motors of Redmond, Washington for the past 23 years. Excellent race prep as needed. Last down to bare chassis in 2006. Engine and gearbox hours logged. Last engine work in 2018 and the gearbox was rebuilt with new case in 2016. Detailed list of work done. Alfin drum brakes, Elva wheels. Last raced in May 2021.
