Chassis #: 70P057

Engine #: 99108     1996cc     plain bearing crankshaft
History: Elva made 69 Mark 7 chassis, of those just 19 had Porsche power. The majority of these cars had 1700cc flat fan 4-Cam Porsche engines.  Only the last few had the 1996cc flat fan 4-Cam engines.

The first USA race the new Elva Porsche took part in was the Road America 500, which it won outright!  Elva factory records show that chassis number 70P057 is delivered new to Elva importer, Carl Haas, in Chicago in 1964.  This was the 17th of the 19 Elva Porsches built, and went on to have a successful USA racing history.

It is one of only a few Elva Porsches originally built with the 1996cc 4-Cam flat fan engine.  These were the more reliable plain bearing crankshaft engines producing 185 BHP.   Having resided for twenty odd years in a prominent collection.

Condition: Although this car has not been raced in some years it is complete, correct and running and deserves to be properly race prepared and raced once again.  It recently had a thorough inspection by a Porsche 4-Cam Specialist.  Engine oil was drained and looked at, compression was checked, leak down test was done and the engine was run to check oil pressure and oil temperature.  All checked out within factory specs.  For a more comprehensive report and detailed photos please contact us.
