Make: Brabham
Model: BT5
Type: Sports Racing Car
Year: 1963
Chassis #: SC-1-63
Colors: Yellow with green center stripe
History: This is the first of only two Brabham BT5 sports racing cars.  It is a strikingly beautiful design with a successful winning race history.  Delivered new to Ian Walker for Frank Gardner to drive.  Amongst its many successes, it was a class win at Snetterton and Silverstone, and an overall race win at Brands Hatch in 1963.  It then continued its winning ways in America, where it was driven by Peter Sachs to class wins at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock, and an overall race win at Thompson.  Having been in storage from 1967 until 2000 and then professionally restored, it is an original chassis, a survivor. Recently it has been raced at the Goodwood Revival in Sussex and numerous other events.  For a more complete race history and a list of the owners from new, please contact us.
Condition: Professionally restored by Ian Gordon in 2000-2001, who in 1963 worked for Ian Walker on this very car. Equipped with a 190 BHP Lotus Ford twin cam engine and Hewland Mark 5, 5 speed gearbox.  Receipts, photos, dyno sheet etc. are all available for review.  This car has current FIA HTP papers for Europe and a U.S. racing log book.  It is on the button and ready to compete.
Comments: This is a very unique opportunity to own one of the very rare (only two built) Brabham BT5 Sports Racing Cars.
