| History: |
This is the first of only two Brabham BT5 sports racing cars.
It is a strikingly beautiful design with a successful
winning race history.
Delivered new to Ian Walker for Frank Gardner to drive.
Amongst its many successes, it was a class win at
Snetterton and Silverstone, and an overall race win at Brands
Hatch in 1963. It then
continued its winning ways in America, where it was driven by
Peter Sachs to class wins at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock, and an
overall race win at Thompson.
Having been in storage from 1967 until 2000 and then
professionally restored, it is an original chassis, a survivor.
Recently it has been raced at the Goodwood Revival in Sussex and
numerous other events.
